i must say... today reminded me why i love living in this area
we were having some nasty weather (nasty to be outside anyways). windy, rainy, humid and then chilly etc... and what is happening in town? both the terry fox run and the superwalk.
even in the most physically uncomfortable of situations we have people coming out to support important causes and not letting such 'atmospheric' circumstances deter them.
as i stood in the coast studio this afternoon doing my on air thing... i see a few dozen people walk by in horizontal rain with rainjackets on, a look of determination and commitment. friendly waves to me through the coast's window and a real sense of passion and care.
i want to say thanks personally for such a showing of the human spirit and just how awesome people can be. but a bigger thanks to all of those who saw passed the weather and perhaps a few minutes of discomfort to raise money for such important causes.
it's truly inspiring.
