rick wright

pink floyd's keyboardist richard wright passed away earlier this week.
as a floyd fan this is unfortunate news. no one wants to hear of someone they like leaving this planet.
like joni mitchell said... you don't know what you got 'til it's gone.

sure i never met the guy, only ever seen photos and heard his music. but you don't like to hear that a person who made something that touched your life so much is gone.

it makes me take a second to appreciate what i've got going in my life... and especially how great of an area we live in. in my last post i was talking about how generous people are around here... and i must say the area itself is unbelievable.

taking in the IPM this week i thought where else can a minor city show up in the middle of a farm feild? where else can you see sqaure dancing farmall tractors?

even around town here... i can walk 4 minutes from the studio and have my feet on a sand beach... i can walk seconds from the station and find incredible shops with a wide variety of items to check out... and i can always count that no matter what is going on i'll see a few hundred smiling faces pass by and wave at me through the coast's window...

As Pink Floyd says on Breathe from Dark Side of the Moon

"For long you live and high you fly...And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry...And all you touch and all you see....Is all your life will ever be"
